Computer Users Get 66% Better
EMI/RF Protection with New Regal Modular Adapters
Santa Clara, CA — Computer users can get up to 66% better
protection against electrical and radio interference (EMI/RF) with Regal’s new modular adapters. Modular adapters are used to connect serial
and parallel ports, with typical applications in linking computers to modems and printers. They are configured with standard 9 to 25 pin connections (D-sub) and RJ-45 or R-J11 connectors.
The new Regal products employ an internal metal casing that is
nothing less than impregnable against predatory radio and electrical interference. The nickel plated shield is forever sealed inside the plastic
outer case, protected against wear, and welded on four sides to form a continuous barrier.
Efficiency is further enhanced through a standard of production usually associated with high performance laboratory
equipment: parts fit snugly, plastic elements are finished to perfection, and the gold plated crimp terminals are designed for
years of trouble free operation. The RJ-45 termination contacts are nickel underplated with 50 microinches of gold to meet FCC-68 sub-part F requirements.
Cable makers and others may obtain the adapters in kit form, with or without overmold and in a choice of colors, making it
possible to assemble specific pinout configurations as required. Resellers and OEMS with varying product lines will find the kit
approach extremely flexible and easy to stock, since there is no need to anticipate precise quantity levels for each
configuration. Special orders are also accepted for adapters made to specified pinout selections, yielding a high quality finished product that is ready to go to work.
The new Regal modular adapters, the 21EMI (25-pin) and 29EMI (9-pin), are priced at about $3.71 each, in quantity 1,000
orders.
